Despite the rhetoric, the United States Constitution Party is neither complex nor rigid. Its platform is simple and consise, directly predicated on the principles of the Declaration of Independence; the Constitution of the United States, and the Bill of Rights.
The Preamble to the Platform http://www.constitutionparty.com/party_platform.php states:
"The goal of the Constitution Party is to restore American jurisprudence to its Biblical foundations and to limit the federal government to its Constitutional boundaries"
History:
The Party was started in 1992 as an alternative to the 2-party system. In 1999, the name was changed to the Constitution Party and by 2008, was recognized as a legitimate third political party. It is now the third largest group of registered voters.
Party Affirmations:

Pro-Life
Pro-States’ Rights
Pro-Second Amendment
Pro-Constitutional, Limited Government

Equal Justice:
Constitutionalists believe that life begins at fertilization and that any government support of abortion is akin to depriving the pre-born person of her or his rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as stated in the Bill of Rights.
The power of the federal government is to be limited and the majority of the power granted to individual states. The Party seeks a return to the citizen-politician, accountable to the home district, which, in turn, sets the agenda to be taken to the federal level. By revoking pay, pensions, and perks, the Party hopes to discourage agenda-bearing career politicians.
Veterans should be fully supported and benefitted. Welfare is discouraged although the Party approves of programs increasing work ethic, empowerment and such. Charity is not the responsibility or obligation of the federal government.
States are urged to decline federal funds and mandates unless directly mandated in the Constitution. States should be responsible for setting educational standards based upon best management principles and the rights of parents to choose as they see fit.
Free Trade
In order to facilitate free trade and entrepreneurship, the Party opposes government intervention in copyrights and patents; the development of energy sources; any treaty or program that hinders the right to private property, including the Endangered Species Act; firearm legislations and prohibitions; universal healthcare; transfer of authority over US trade policy away from Congress; job outsourcing; and tax breaks for US multinational corporations investing abroad.
Wage and price controls are opposed as the market is prohibited from the natural ebbs and flows necessary for economic health. Businesses should be discouraged from or penalized for
pursuing foreign business investment or entering into government/private partnerships which hinders free enterprise
Domestic Defense
The function of the federal level of governance is to provide a safe environment for the people. In that regard, the Party opposes government intervention and ccapriciousnessunless the task is to exclusively defend the United States' security issues. To successfully defend these interests, the military must be state-of-the-art and fiscally responsible and supportive of local militias.
The Party is in opposition to any legislation that deprives 4th and 5th Amendment rights under the guise of protection. The party opposes US interference in others' affairs; world government; regionalization; participation in the United Nations and NATO; and only enter into noninterventionist treaties that are subordinate to the Constitution.
Competition
The Constitution Party is aimed at creating competition and choice into a stagnant party system. By consolidating resources to manage issues on domestic soil rather than wordlwide allows the United States to regain the power and stability intended by the Founding Fathers.
